Cosm is emerging as one of the most talked-about names in entertainment technology, attracting fans, investors, and major leagues as it rolls out its immersive Shared Reality venues in Los Angeles and Dallas — transforming how people watch sports, concerts, film events, and cultural experiences.
Founded in 2020 and based in Los Angeles, Cosm operates cutting-edge entertainment centers that blend advanced display technology with high-quality live and recorded content to create experiences that make audiences feel like they’re inside the action rather than watching it on a screen.
The first of these venues opened in Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, adjacent to major sports arenas including SoFi Stadium, Intuit Dome, and Kia Forum. Shortly afterward, a second location debuted in The Colony, near Dallas at Grandscape, giving fans in Texas a similarly breathtaking immersive environment.
At the heart of each venue is Cosm’s centerpiece 87-foot diameter LED dome, a massive curved display that projects ultra-high-resolution visuals and spatial audio to surround audiences in sights and sound. From the roar of a live game to the soaring crescendos of a concert, these environments are engineered to simulate the intensity and presence of being courtside, on the field, or center stage.
The Shared Reality concept lets people experience major sporting events in ways never seen before outside of a stadium. Fans can watch NBA games, NFL matchups, Premier League soccer matches, UFC fights and more in real-time with multiple camera angles — including views from under the rim, behind the bench, or beside the goal line — all stitched together inside the immersive setting.
This innovative approach has attracted serious attention from sports bodies themselves. The National Basketball Association (NBA) recently signed a long-term collaboration with Cosm to broadcast live games in Shared Reality at these venues nationwide, making Cosm a featured destination for select NBA events through the 2025-26 season and beyond.
But it’s not just sports on the docket. Cosm is also teaming up with major media franchises and entertainment brands. For example, a Shared Reality adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is in development with Warner Bros., promising to bring the beloved story to life inside the dome environment in a fully immersive way.
The venues are designed with versatility in mind. Inside, comfortable seating, elevated food and drink options, and social areas help turn a visit into a shared event with friends or family rather than just passive viewing. Outdoor decks and additional flexible spaces mean they can host everything from corporate events and private screenings to live music shows and interactive art installations.
Cosm’s rapid rise has also captured investor interest. The company raised over $250 million in funding from backers that include sports and entertainment investors like Marc Lasry and Dan Gilbert’s Rock Group, as well as venture capital firms — a sign of high confidence in immersive entertainment as a growing category.
Expansion plans aren’t slowing down. Cosm is already building additional venues set to open in Atlanta and Detroit in 2026, with a fifth location planned for Cleveland. Each new site will extend the reach of shared reality entertainment technology, bringing the same heart-pounding visuals and communal experiences to new cities.
Critics point out that building such advanced, tech-heavy venues is capital-intensive and may face logistical challenges, but industry observers believe Cosm’s strategy of combining cutting-edge tech with premium content partnerships positions it well for long-term success.
For audiences tired of passive screens and traditional viewing experiences, Cosm’s venues offer an electrifying alternative — one that brings events to life with a level of immersion previously only possible inside a stadium or live concert. What once sounded like futuristic entertainment is today becoming reality, with Los Angeles and Dallas serving as first stops on what could be a broad rollout of immersive entertainment hubs across the country.
